InnerWorkings .NET Training provides practical, self-paced training for .NET developers. Using hands-on coding challenges, you learn about key .NET techniques in a realistic learning environment.

With this sample, you get one hour of FREE hands-on learning material on programming Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). You will learn how to define a service contract and host a WCF service that implements the contract with multiple endpoints. Also, as one of the main strengths of WCF is the ability to support reliable services across a distributed environment, you will learn how to implement a reliable session on a custom binding.

All the material is fully integrated with the Visual Studio environment and is ready for you to use right away. As the offer is available for a limited time only, why not check it out today!

Learn how to put all the built-in power of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 to work with this comprehensive, in-depth programming guide. It drills down into the internal workings of Visual Studio .NET to help you get the most out of its features, editors, and project-management capabilities. You’ll see how to extend this rich, integrated development environment to maximize your productivity for any project, no matter where you are in the development cycle—or which language you use. You’ll also learn how to use macros and add-ins to simplify your work. Code examples in every chapter show you exactly what to do.

The target audience for Inside Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 is any developer who is interested in learning the ins and outs of Visual Studio .NET. We wrote the book using Visual Studio .NET 2003, but nearly everything that we discuss in the book also applies to Visual Studio .NET 2002.

This book won’t teach you programming, but it will help you understand the solution and project paradigm used to organize the application projects that you’ll work with using Visual Studio .NET. That said, if you’re a student who is just learning a programming language, you might find the initial chapters of the book very helpful as you go about programming in this IDE.

If you’re interested in extending and customizing the Visual Studio .NET IDE, this book is for you.

The web page, or section(s) of the web page, is refreshed with the Ajax response without reposting the web page. Ajax has the following advantages over non-Ajax web applications.

- Reduced response time and reduced server load, as the complete web page is not reposted.

- Reduced bandwidth of web applications as only data is transferred and the HTML format is applied in the browser.

- Separation of data, format and style.

The book covers web search and RSS Feed with Ajax as well as form validation with Ajax frameworks for Java, JSP, JSF, and PHP. It discusses using Ajax in Oracle JDeveloper and is IDE based. JDeveloper has the following advantages over Eclipse IDE.

- JDeveloper 11g provides an integrated JavaScript Editor for Ajax/Web development.

- It also provides a PHP extension.

- JDeveloper has a built-in support for JSF and for JDBC.

This book addresses the service quality support technologies needed to deliver different types of content over IP network.

The approach of this book could perhaps be best described as a system level solution viewpoint, not going very deep into individual technologies while attempting to provide an overview of the relevant technologies. This book represents the author’s attempt to best capture the multi-faceted area of service quality in IP environment of today.

An Under-the-Hood Guide to the Power of Xen Hypervisor Internals

The Definitive Guide to the Xen Hypervisor is a comprehensive handbook on the inner workings of XenSource’s powerful open source paravirtualization solution. From architecture to kernel internals, author David Chisnall exposes key code components and shows you how the technology works, providing the essential information you need to fully harness and exploit the Xen hypervisor to develop cost-effective, highperformance Linux and Windows virtual environments.

Granted exclusive access to the XenSource team, Chisnall lays down a solid framework with overviews of virtualization and the design philosophy behind the Xen hypervisor. Next, Chisnall takes you on an in-depth exploration of the hypervisor’s architecture, interfaces, device support, management tools, and internals—including key information for developers who want to optimize applications for virtual environments. He reveals the power and pitfalls of Xen in real-world examples and includes hands-on exercises, so you gain valuable experience as you learn.

This insightful resource gives you a detailed picture of how all the pieces of the Xen hypervisor fit and work together, setting you on the path to building and implementing a streamlined, cost-efficient virtual enterprise.

openSUSE Linux Unleashed presents comprehensive coverage of the community version of SUSE Linux, one of the most popular and most complete Linux distributions in the world.

This book provides detailed information on installing, using, and administering openSUSE. You’ll learn how to unleash the vast array of software products included in openSUSE so that you can use it as a desktop computer, as a professional workstation, or as a powerful server.

openSUSE Linux Unleashed includes a broad range of coverage: from using software you need everyday–such as email clients, web browsers, and productivity software including the OpenOffice.org productivity suite–to configuring and administering a wide range of network and server products, such as the Apache web server, and MySQL database.

Additionally, this book provides details on openSUSE’s acclaimed YaST administration tools, web programming, networking, and choosing from a wide selection of graphical interfaces and desktop environments, including both KDE and GNOME.

Plan your openSUSE installation based on your computing needs

Configure and use the X Window System–the Linux graphical interface–and the two primary desktop environments for Linux–KDE and GNOME

Run OpenOffice.org and other productivity tools

Create your own websites and weblogs

Manage the kernel and its modules

Set up networks

Run the Apache web server

Use the LAMP web programming suite: Linux, Apache, MySQL, and the scripting languages Perl, Python, and PHP

Play music, video, and games

Preserve an existing Windows installation for dual-boot launching
